Happy Friday folks!
The "Medicine" tour is officially coming to a close, 16 months, 5 countries, 147 shows, over 200,000 incredible faces in the crowds on the Medicine tour, Compadres, and all of the festivals. Thank you so much for letting our music into your lives and coming out to spend a night or a day with us. We have loved it. Time to go home for a while and make another record for you all.
Two big things we are running full steam ahead with that you should know about are Moon River Festival 2016 and Magnolia Record Club.
Moon River Music Festival 2015 is probably going to go down as one of my top 10 days of all time. Seeing so many people in my home town, enjoying music I love, and more friends on stage and in the audience than I can even count. I fully expect 2016 Moon River to live up to the expectations I have for it, and that you have for it. We did a lot of listening after last year, and we decided two major things. First, we are moving the festival to 3 days!! Saturday and Sunday at the Shell, with a VIP event on Friday night at the Brooks Museum of Art. Second, we are moving to the Fall! Enough of the crazy summer heat. Let's do early October when the weather in Memphis is dang near perfect. Below is the lineup, and we thing it is absolutely incredible. My other project, Magnolia Record Club, the vinyl record subscription service, has been a surprising thing. The community that has rallied behind it has been very humbling. We are thrilled to have been able to offer some incredible records from artists like The Lumineers, Patty Griffin, Colony House, Penny & Sparrow, and are very excited about the May record, Chris Stapleton's double vinyl, "Traveller".
